NEwSCHOOL 

OF ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN

Located in the design district of downtown San Diego, NewSchool of Architecture & Design, a globally recognized and awarded design university, is known for its forward-thinking professors, an inspiring campus community, and top industry connections and collaboration opportunities. NewSchool students are innovative designers who are passionate about pursuing exciting careers in the fields of architecture, design, and construction management. From the first day of class, students explore and break through creative boundaries, while hands-on experiences provide the foundation and tools necessary to grow and succeed as a designer.

urban discovery

academy

 Urban Discovery Academy is a free-public charter school serving TK through 8th grade students in the heart of the IDEA District, in the East Village neighborhood of Downtown San Diego. UDA opened in 2008 and is now a part of Urban Discovery Schools, including IDEATE High Academy, who opened its doors in 2016 as the first design-thinking focused high school in San Diego. The UDA schools serve to develop community-minded students who are active, creative, confident, and ready to lead our global society.

e3 civic high school

e3 Civic High is a free public charter high school serving grades 9 thru 12 located in the landmark 400,000 square foot downtown San Diego Public Library. The three "e's" represent and drive our mission to Engage, Educate and Empower.

 

The Charter Petition for e³ Civic High was submitted to and authorized by San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) in September of 2010. e3 opened in in the in the fall of 2013 with an entering class of 265 ninth and tenth grade students. Currently approximately 400 students are enrolled in our school. e3 celebrates a diverse population of scholars who come from over 35 zip codes.

 

The unique partnership between e3 Civic High, the San Diego Public Library, the City of San Diego and SDUSD has created a new mixed use design model for urban public schools and community-based organizations.
